Last week we had the logistical task of performing two programmes on consecutive nights, the first at Sage Gateshead and the second at the Festival Theatre in Chichester. At Sage Gateshead, we played our Elton John programme with the Royal Northern Sinfonia to an enthusiastic audience, and soon had them on their feet for some Crocodile Rocking! Richard and I hit the road immediately afterwards, in appalling weather, and headed for Chichester for our Streisand programme with the BBC Concert Orchestra. A sold out theatre rapturously rewarded us with another standing ovation, which was particularly welcome as the concert was being filmed for promotional usage at a later date.
