Yesterday we played our Bacharach programme at the Royal Festival Hall with the London Concert Orchestra. Gareth Hudson conducted and Mary Carewe, Abbie Osmon and Katie Birtill joined me for another celebration of the magic of Burt Bacharach. This was Katie’s first outing for this programme, but you would have never known it. We were delighted with a very packed and attentive audience and we were rewarded with a standing ovation – never a given for a matinee performance in such a large auditorium.
We are now into our 7th year of performing this particular concert, and it never palls, never ages. It will still be as thrilling to sing throughout the next 7 years and beyond if we are asked to!
