Light at the End of the Tunnel?

Finally – finally, good news to report.

After a year of misery, two of our cancelled Elton John concerts have been reinstated for this October. On the 22nd, we will be performing in Birmingham with the CBSO at Symphony Hall, and a week later on the 30th, with the Hallé at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. We cannot wait.
Although Covid remains a potent force, it is thrilling that orchestras and their management are now finding ways to present concerts whilst never reducing the safety and security to their musicians and audiences.

Obviously, given we last performed this concert in November 2019, we are organising a rehearsal period for the singers, but even this has to be looked at carefully, mindful of the need to observe distancing and testing before we proceed.

However, when we finally get to rehearse and perform with the orchestras in October, whatever distracting procedures we will have endured up to then will fade set against the absolute joy of singing with our friends and presenting our concerts once again to an audience .
