They do say that Christmas comes earlier each year – you can see it in the shops and hear it on the radio already. It’s certainly true in the Balcombe household where it started on September 15th!
Let me explain – as soon as the summer came to a close (with Proms in the Park on September 13th) my mind turned to matters GRB and our upcoming Christmas concert with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. It might seem a while away but I had to set my mind to orchestrating the programme. I finally finished the last score on October 10th and now I can’t wait to hear the new arrangements. There are some fabulous songs in the programme and I know that Graham and our star singers will make the vocal arrangements leap off the page.
It’s not your traditional Christmas programme – it features a host of the best Christmas songs from the 50’s through to the 80’s with nods towards Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams and Kay Starr through to Mariah Carey and Michael Buble. If you’re in the north west on December 13th it’s one that you won’t want to miss! RB
